Hi, Trackmaniacs. I am part owner, operator of UGG's TMU BodyShop. Go to http://www.ugghost.com and follow the Game Links button. I've been making and converting cars since the days of Sunrise.
A link to my TMU conversion tutorial can be found on TM Creative website's tutorials pages. I have recently updated it with a sample car file. The zip file also contains the .3ds file for the car. You could use this as a template to creat your own models, or use to see if your 3D program exports to a proper .3ds for the game.
I will try to use this thread as a showroom for my work.
On another note, TStarG asked if i could turn his Logo into a 'TM car'.
Is this what you had in mind?...

if you can, make 2 other ones with
a) TM (only the TM logo in 3d)
b) TMC (3 colored cubes with letters)
