i still have a problem converting my music.
i've read the tutorial a hndred times but i can't find the explanation for my problem.
So I've downloaded the Foobar 2000 music converter, I insert & open my music file which is still in windows media player.
I right click on it (in Foobar oc), choose "convert to" and make the setup like in the tutorial. Then I believe i should savethe file in the wanted directory but in case it says "open" and i dont know what i have to look for??
can anyone help me plz?
It says I must search "oggenc.exe" but i dont know what or where it is
i have found the solution but now i have another problem =D
ingame my music isn't loud engouh to hear??

There's typically two reasons - 1/ You have the music volume is too low. this is a simple fix, in-game just move your mouse up to the top of the screen and a music icon and volume setting will appear. Adjust the volume by sliding the slider to the right. 2/ The most likely reason is that the gain on the song is too low. To fix this, you need to use a music editing program (I use Audacity, which is free and very good) and using that you can select the song and increase the gain, then save it with the new gain settings.

in foobar you can adjust the gain when converting to wav.

Hi
I'm new here and I have some questions about adding custom music to my tracks.
I know there is a tutorial for this so I must first apologise because I guess some will just say "Read the Tut!!", but I am really struggling to get it to work.
I have all my music uploaded to a server which supports hotlinking and they are all in a compressed ogg format. Not in mono, but they shouldn't take more than a minute to download anyway. I also have locators in:
C:\Users\username\Documents\TrackMania\ChallengeMusics
They have the direct link to the music inside them and are named "music.ogg.loc".
So my main question is, what do I select in the track editor when I click "Add custom music"? Do I select the .loc file in my documents, or do I select the .ogg from my own hard disk?
Also, are there any options that need to be edited in the TM Launcher like network settings or P2P settings?
Some of these things aren't made that clear in the Tutorial but perhaps you are still in the process of updating them, in which case I'm sorry, again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh btw I have TM:Nations (free version) and am running Vista X64.
Thanks in advance.

When you click the "Select custom music", you will be shown a new window with the songtitles in a greyish colour. You have to left-click one of those grey names. Clicking the "Add own/custom music" button and then selecting a file from the directory is somehow a trap! I tried that before several times and wondered why it didn't work until I finally figured out that you have to click the grey-coloured titles (thx again, TStar *g*).
Changes in configuration are basically the same as for all custom stuff, for ports etc take a look here: Avatar tutorial.
The locators AND the music files themselves have to be placed in the ChallengeMusics folder.

Lol I see what you mean, the answer was right there all along. Yeah it works perfectly now! Thank-you so much!

Try the program "Audacity" instead, then there's no problem
