both mods look a bit "unreal", whats happening there?

maybe the jpg compression ?

or is it negative images ?

C&C as in Command & Conquer?
I don't see the resemblence to those games... sorry.
It looks like it's the original textures made monochrome, with a little colour added as well as some kind of artistic filter.
The end result doesn't look very appealing to me; I'd at least add some more colur.

Never thought about that... its suposed to be alusive to Command & Conquer?

Dont see any resemblance either... although this one looks nicer than the other orange/blue. But it lacks originality too.

Either the filehosting site fudged up the quality of your screenshots or you play the game in 320 x 240 resolution with 8 bit colours and -16x Shader Model

I think it's the first.

Anyway, I dont like the colours of the mod and as Retodon said it looks like you just editted the old textures.
